Appearance : Studio fix powder plus foundation by Mac is a double walled compact powder case, which has a mirror on one side as you open it and powdered cake on the other. As you lift up the wall with the cake, you have a sponge applicator, which is used to apply the product on your face. The sponge is a flat circular disc, which helps even out the application and absorbs most of the product leaving your face with just enough quantity required.

Directions to use : Start by using a smaller quantity on your sponge, and build it up depending on the requirement. I use a moisturizer or a primer as a base, before applying it to hydrate the skin and to avoid direct contact of makeup with the skin. Also, any cream base helps holding the studio fix better on the face.
One might expect studio fix powder by MAC, to be cakey or make one look whiter than their original tone but it only conceals and makes the face look smoother and the features look flawless.
Price and Shelf life: With Indian brands coming up with different types of compact, and a lot of options within a price bracket of Rs.1000, why would one go for MAC? My Experience Using MAC Studio Fix Powder With Foundation
Studio fix comes in various shades and one can match it to their skin tone or their foundation. I prefer using only compact, as I like my skin to breathe at all times and prefer less coverage. For almost a decade I have been using the NC45, which is used for a darker skin tone. Thanks to the winter sun, and less tanning I've upgraded to a whiter shade of the studio fix, NC43.5.
If applied on top of a generous layer of primer or moisturizer (not an oily one), one does not even need a fixer post their entire makeup. I usually use the sponge with just one layer of studio powder fix for the day, and maybe an extra layer for the night.
While you have many options to top it up with highlighter or mineralizer, don't use too much of the studio fix powder. Studio fix applied over blush will make the face look cakey so definitely avoid that even if your cheeks have become too pink.

I honestly love this product and feel that my makeup is incomplete without the same. This forms the basis of my non-makeup or makeup look. On working days, I prefer to only wear this with a line of kohl for my eyes.
